Say Goodbye to Wasting Hours on PowerPoint Slides

PowerPoint Just Got a Whole Lot Easier

Have you ever stared at a blank PowerPoint slide, unsure where to begin?

Maybe you’ve got a solid Word document with all your ideas, but turning it into a clear, polished presentation feels like a massive task. You know what you want to say, but getting it to look good on a slide takes time. Sometimes hours.

If that sounds familiar, Microsoft just gave you a reason to celebrate.

A new update to Microsoft Copilot now lets you create PowerPoint slides directly from a Word file. What once took hours can now be done in seconds.

And yes, it really is that simple.

What Is Copilot and How Does It Help?

Copilot is Microsoft’s AI assistant, built into tools like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. It’s designed to help you work faster by understanding what you’re trying to achieve and taking care of the repetitive, manual steps.

With this new feature, you can ask Copilot to generate a slide from any part of your Word document. It will instantly create a professional-looking slide using your existing content.

No more copying and pasting. No more fiddling with fonts, layouts, or spacing.

It won’t yet apply your brand colours or add background images, but it gives you a solid starting point that’s clean and well structured. You can then customise it however you like.

A Big Win for Busy Teams

Slides are still one of the most common ways to communicate in business. Whether you’re presenting to a client, updating the team, or building a strategy, PowerPoint is still part of the process.

But building slides from scratch takes time. And let’s be honest, it’s not most people’s favourite task.

With Copilot, you can start with a well-written document and get a full set of slides in just a few clicks. The creative work is still yours, but the time-consuming formatting is no longer a barrier.

How to Try It

If your business is already using Microsoft 365 and you have a Copilot license, you can start using this feature now.

Just make sure your apps are up to date. In PowerPoint, go to the Home tab and select New Slide with Copilot, or click the Copilot icon and choose Add a slide.

This Isn’t Just About Saving Time

Yes, it’s faster. But more importantly, it lets your team focus on what really matters, communicating ideas clearly and effectively. You can spend more time on your message and less time shifting bullet points around on a slide.

If creating presentations is part of your daily work, this update could make a real difference.
