How long does the Free Threat Check take?
The check takes 30 minutes. We run the public checks first, then use the booked session to review the private settings and evidence you have authorised. We finish by walking you through the priority findings and handing over the report.
What can you check without access to our systems?
We can inspect public information tied to your business domain, including email impersonation protection, website certificate health, basic domain security and known data-breach exposure. These checks do not require a login, password or access to your Microsoft 365 environment.
What needs authorisation?
Microsoft Secure Score, multi-factor authentication coverage, backup evidence, licence use and the Essential 8 quick maturity check rely on private information. We run those checks only after an authorised person approves the scope and provides read-only evidence or joins a screen share.
Do you need our password?
No. We never ask for your password. Private checks use approved read-only access, reports you provide, or a screen share where you stay in control. Submitting the booking form does not grant Vaelis IT access to anything.
Is the report really free and no obligation?
Yes. The Free Threat Check and its plain-English report are free. You can ask your current IT provider to act on it, ask Vaelis IT for help, or keep it for later. There is no obligation to buy anything after the check.
Is this a penetration test or compliance audit?
No. It is a focused 30-minute risk check for small businesses, not a penetration test, formal compliance audit or guarantee that every risk has been found. If the findings show you need deeper testing, we will say so plainly.
Who is the Free Threat Check for?
It is built for businesses with 5 to 30 staff on the Northern Beaches and North Shore. It suits professional services, allied health, trades, finance, education and manufacturing businesses that want a clear starting point without a sales pitch.
Who receives the report?
We send it only to the business contact who booked the check, or another authorised recipient you name. We do not publish it or share findings with your current provider, broker or anyone else unless you ask us to.
